Analysis of chirp signals by time-frequency localization frames

چکیده
A theory of frames that extend Gabor analysis by including chirping is discussed. The chirping parameter in thesètime-frequency localization frames' depends on time and/or frequency shift parameters that can be adapted to analyze and detect chirps in noisy signals. Radar/sonar applications are outlined. The frame theory is motivated by a generalized notion of square-integrable group representation developed by Ali, Antoine, and Gazeau, together with ideas in Baraniuk's thesis on a metaplectic extension of Cohen's class.

Significance of Cohen's Class for Time Frequency Analysis of Signals
In this paper, a study of quadratic transformations under Cohen‟s class is presented, to see the variations in resolution for performing time-frequency analysis of signals. The study concentrated on the analysis of linear chirp signals and nonstationary signals in presence of noise as well as without noise. The resolutions based on Wavelet Transform, Short Time Fourier Transform are analysed. T...
متن کاملFrames in rotated time-frequency planes
Weyl-Heisenberg frames are complete signal representations corresponding to rectangular tiling of the time-frequency plane. Extensions of these frames are obtained in the rotated time-frequency planes by using the fractional Fourier transformation. It is shown that rotation does not affect the frame bounds. For some specific angles, lattices in rotated coordinates will map to the lattices in th...
متن کاملSpeech analysis with the short-time chirp transform
The most popular time-frequency analysis tool, the Short-Time Fourier Transform, suffers from blurry harmonic representation when voiced speech undergoes changes in pitch. These relatively fast variations lead to inconsistent bins in frequency domain and cannot be accurately described by the Fourier analysis with high resolution both in time and frequency. In this paper a new analysis tool, cal...

متن کاملHarmonic Tracking-based Short-Time Chirp Analysis of Speech Signals
The Short-Time Fourier Transform is the most popular timefrequency analysis tool applied in speech processing. This transform delivers fair quality analysis for periodic signals, but, since speech is quasi-periodic, the transform suffers from blurry harmonic representation when voiced speech undergoes changes in pitch. This frequency variation could be relative high in comparison with the analy...
